Saudade

Inspired by the Portuguese concept of saudade—a quiet longing for what has been loved and lost—this body of work explores the emotional landscape left behind by absence. It reflects on people once held close, moments dissolved by time, and futures that never came to pass.

In an increasingly individualistic society, Saudade reflects on our fundamental need for connection. It suggests that grief is inseparable from love, and that the pain of absence is evidence of the bonds we forge with one another.

Through these visual narratives, the work moves between companionship and solitude, inviting viewers to reflect on the people, places, and versions of themselves that continue to shape who we are long after they have gone.
